About Greenshank:

Greenshank was founded to help landowners deliver nature restoration by harnessing the potential of natural capital. We support landowners through the complex process of getting nature-based solutions from an idea to a project that can help rural businesses diversify while protecting the environment.

Our team has led innovation in the industry, developing guidance for Natural England and shaping regulations and policy. With an active portfolio of multiple projects and a growing pipeline of potential projects, we are seeking a Business Development, Land and Sales Manager. This role will focus on winning new partnerships with landowners to deliver natural capital projects and conducting sales of BNG units and nutrient credits to developers.

Negotiation & Deal Structuring: Lead negotiations to secure long-term agreements with landowners, ensuring commercial viability and a full understanding of the requirements for delivery of natural capital schemes.

Project Development: Identify, assess, and onboard suitable sites for habitat creation, restoration, and nutrient mitigation projects.

Developer Sales: Lead the process of agreeing sales of nutrient credits and BNG units to developers. Advise customers on regulations impacting nutrient credit and BNG unit sales and use this to close sales.

Market Intelligence: Stay up-to-date with policy changes, funding opportunities, and market trends related to natural capital and nature markets.

Key Skills & Experience:

Proven Track Record in land acquisition, estate management, or land-based project development, ideally within the environmental, agricultural, or renewable energy sectors.

Strong understanding of Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), nutrient neutrality, and natural capital markets.

Exceptional negotiation and contract management skills with experience in securing land agreements.

Ability to build trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders, including landowners, developers and technical experts.

Knowledge of UK environmental policy, planning frameworks, and relevant legislation (e.g., Environment Act 2021).

Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and capitalise on new opportunities.

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Full UK driving license and willingness to travel regularly to meet landowners and stakeholders.

Desirable:

Background in agriculture, ecology, rural surveying, land use planning, or natural resource management.

Experience working with Habitat Management and Monitoring Plans (HMMPs) and local planning authorities.

What We Offer:

Competitive salary with performance-based incentives.

Flexible working arrangements.
