Greenshank was founded to help landowners deliver nature restoration by harnessing the potential of natural capital. We support landowners through the complex process of getting nature-based solutions from an idea to a project that can help rural businesses diversify while protecting the environment.

Our team has led innovation in the industry, developing guidance for Natural England and shaping regulations and policy. With an active portfolio of multiple projects and growing pipeline of potential projects, we require a Nature-Based Solutions Project Manager to help us deliver exciting nature restoration projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Project manage nature-based solutions projects: supporting our clients through the process of bringing a natural capital scheme to market.

Project management will involve:

·      Procuring sub-contractors for specialist ecology and environmental services, including developing specifications for sub-contractors to deliver the required services to move projects towards deployment.

·      Managing sub-contractors completing specific tasks required as part of project delivery.

·      Managing external legal support, providing information as required to support the legal process required to deliver projects.

·      Managing external regulatory and local government stakeholders to achieve the permissions required to deliver projects.

·      Working with other external stakeholders, including environmental NGOs, educational institutions andcommunity groups to deliver additional benefits from our projects.

·      Tracking and controlling spending on sub-contractors.

Maintaining relationships with key sub-contractors: ensuring Greenshank maintains good working relationships with key sub-contractors that service projects in different regions.

Site screening: providing early-stage screening ofland for the potential to be used for Biodiversity Net Gain and/or nutrient mitigation.  

Understand the sector: Keep abreast of policy and wider developments in Nature Markets and Natural Capital.

Key skills and experience

·      At least 2-3 years of experience in an environmentally focussed project management role.

·      Proficient in the use of MS Office, especially MS Excel and MS Word.

·      Proficient in the use of GIS – experience of QGIS preferred.    

·      A confident communicator in both written and verbal communications.  

·      Strong organisational skills.

·      A working knowledge of Biodiversity Net Gain.

·      A full driving licence and use of own vehicle, with valid business insurance, and a willingness t otravel to meetings.

Desirable

·      Undergraduate degree or higher in an ecological or environmental discipline.

·      Skills in coding for data analysis, preferably using R.

·      A working knowledge of Nutrient Neutrality.

·      An understanding of UK planning policy and wildlife legislation.
